Speaker A:

There was, like, three people to just, like, drop dead.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

That's harsh.

Speaker A:

Sorry.

Speaker A:

Oh, my God.

Speaker A:

Group chat that turned into a podcast.

Speaker A:

Hell yeah, dude.

Speaker A:

Fenty to all your besties.

Speaker A:

Hell yeah, dude.

Speaker A:

Are they a little bit bothered?

Speaker A:

Hell yeah, dude.

Speaker A:

Welcome to A Little Bit Bothered, the podcast where our group chat spills into your ears.

Speaker A:

Where for friends who overshare, laugh too much, and aren't afraid to get a little snarky, we've taken our brutally honest, vulnerable, and downright hilarious conversations from the chat and turn them into a podcast.

Speaker A:

Because, honestly, why keep all this entertainment to ourselves?

Speaker A:

Whether it's the petty stuff, the deep stuff, or the stuff that makes you wonder.

Speaker A:

Did they really just say that?

Speaker A:

We're here to say I think we're a little bit bothered.

Speaker A:

We're a little bit bothered.

Speaker A:

We're back.

Speaker A:

Yay.

Speaker A:

We're your bothered bitches.

Speaker A:

I'm Nicole.

Speaker A:

I'm Monica.

Speaker A:

And I'm Kelsey.

Speaker A:

And we are indeed missing one.

Speaker A:

I miss her.

Speaker A:

We miss you, Ashley.

Speaker A:

So if you're looking at us being a bad.

Speaker A:

Yep.

Speaker A:

If you're looking at us, if you're watching us, you notice right away that there's only three of us.

Speaker A:

But if you're listening, there's only three of us.

Speaker A:

Ashley is being a big girl, a badass, the baddest of all asses, A corporate baddie, if you will.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Because she got a promotion and she's doing her big girl things.

Speaker A:

So she's not gone gone.

Speaker A:

She's just gonna pop in whenever she can because she has responsibilities and life, be life.

Speaker A:

And she's got sponsorbilities now.

Speaker A:

She does have sponsorbilities now.

Speaker A:

The truth of it is she just really.

Speaker A:

We are very proud of her, and we want her to do whatever makes her happy and not, you know, take away from her time with her family, too.

Speaker A:

So her big girl job now includes her traveling more and doing all the things.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker A:

So the time that she has with her family is sparing and obviously important.

Speaker A:

So we were like, girl, just.

Speaker A:

You don't have to be on here if you don't want to be on here.

Speaker A:

It's cool.

Speaker A:

We got it.

Speaker A:

Come on.

Speaker A:

When you want.

Speaker A:

It's not even that.

Speaker A:

It's just like when you.

Speaker A:

We get it, though.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Because this always, like, we always want this to be fun.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And life is lifing.

Speaker A:

And so.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

She just has.

Speaker A:

She's got a lot going on.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

In a good way.

Speaker A:

This is all good stuff.

Speaker A:

So it's not anything that's like, you know.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

We miss You, Ashley.

Speaker A:

But we are so proud of you.

Speaker A:

Yeah, we are so proud of you.

Speaker A:

And we cannot wait to see where, like, this new job opportunity takes you and all the amazing things you're gonna do with it.

Speaker A:

We love you.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

She's still a bothered.

Speaker A:

She just.

Speaker A:

She's just a badass bothered.

Speaker A:

She's just taken her bitchness to higher places.

Speaker A:

Literally.

Speaker A:

She's letting the bitchiness fuel her career.

Speaker A:

Too busy for a mediocre podcast right now.

Speaker A:

Can you guys just really blow this podcast up so we can retire our best friend?

Speaker A:

Not our husbands, our best friend.

Speaker A:

Yeah, exactly.

Speaker A:

One thing I see on Tick Tock all the time, because now I'm a tick tocker.

Speaker A:

Now, guys, before we left for a little summer break, I know, before we left for our summer break, I was like, ew, tick tock.

Speaker A:

No, but now I'm a tick tocker.

Speaker A:

Anyway, I see on Tick Tock all the time, people are like, I retired my husband.

Speaker A:

Or did you hear that?

Speaker A:

So and so retired her husband.

Speaker A:

We don't want to do that.

Speaker A:

We just want to retire our friend so that she could come with us all day long.

Speaker A:

They can retire themselves.

Speaker A:

Sorry, honey.

Speaker A:

I love you, but they can retire themselves.

Speaker A:

Let's just retire us and then, you know, retire them in the meantime.

Speaker A:

That's okay, right?

Speaker A:

Yeah, we could just do podcast stuff for, like, an entire job.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Be so fun.

Speaker A:

Although social media is, like, kind of scary.

Speaker A:

You know what I mean?

Speaker A:

It is, like, it's very scary.

Speaker A:

I think about the people that have had social media careers for, like, a long time.

Speaker A:

Like, we were talking about Trisha, Trisha Paytas last night and her crazy baby name.

Speaker A:

We're like, how did she even get famous?

Speaker A:

Because there's just so much none of us knew.

Speaker A:

None of us are like, this is how she got.

Speaker A:

We all are just like, I don't know.

Speaker A:

She's on.

Speaker A:

She's on social media.

Speaker A:

Like, there's this, there's this, there's that.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

I never even heard of her until, like, last week.

Speaker A:

And everyone's like, what's Trisha going to name her baby?

Speaker A:

I'm like, who the fuck is Trisha?

Speaker A:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker A:

Also she named her baby Aquaman, so there's that.

Speaker A:

But I didn't know that the naming of the babies was, like, a thing for her like that.

Speaker A:

I didn't know about her.

Speaker A:

I didn't either.

Speaker A:

I was part of Trisha Paytas.

Speaker A:

Laura.

Speaker A:

I didn't know.

Speaker A:

Yeah, I didn't even know she had other babies.

Speaker A:

I Thought this was, like, her first.

Speaker A:

And so I was like, hold up.

Speaker A:

You did what?

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

And I also thought that the creator, whose, like, video I saw first about it was bullshitting.

Speaker A:

Like, I thought that they were making, like, making a joke, and then I had to go down the rabbit hole, and that just led me to a whole lot of other things and a lot of conspiracy theories.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And I spent way too much time on this.

Speaker A:

Yeah, I. I saw that.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I was like, what?

Speaker A:

What do you mean?

Speaker A:

I didn't know that she had Elvis.

Speaker A:

I didn't know that she had Malibu Barbie.

Speaker A:

I didn't know anybody.

Speaker A:

Well, I think what's crazier is just how everyone says that her babies are reincarnated.

Speaker A:

I know that's crazy, but I get the theory.

Speaker A:

I get where it's coming from.

Speaker A:

The thing is, is, like, I think Malibu by itself.

Speaker A:

Malibu's actually not a bad name.

Speaker A:

Malibu, yeah.

Speaker A:

Elvis is fine.

Speaker A:

You know, it's Elvis.

Speaker A:

Also fine.

Speaker A:

It's Elvis.

Speaker A:

But Aquaman.

Speaker A:

I know.

Speaker A:

And people were like.

Speaker A:

People were like, oh, so it must be Aqua.

Speaker A:

And she's like, no, it's Aquaman.

Speaker A:

Like, it's.

Speaker A:

It's Aquaman.

Speaker A:

But I need to know, like, is this public record?

Speaker A:

Like, can we see the birth certificates?

Speaker A:

Is she really naming.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

All just like.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

I don't know how we, like, test the validity of these names and statements.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

But I do know that when she had.

Speaker A:

When she announced.

Speaker A:

When she announced the name on her podcast, her friends and, like, co hosts, they were like, oh, that's so cute.

Speaker A:

I'm like, you fucking liar.

Speaker A:

You're a liar.

Speaker A:

Stop lying to her.

Speaker A:

Like, you can.

Speaker A:

You could be like, oh, that's so you.

Speaker A:

Don't be lying to her and say, that's so cute.

Speaker A:

It's not cute.

Speaker A:

It's not a cute name.

Speaker A:

Aquaman is not a cute name.

Speaker A:

Fucking liars.

Speaker A:

So you.

Speaker A:

If you want to say, oh, that is so you.

Speaker A:

Okay, cool.

Speaker A:

I would not take that as an insult.

Speaker A:

I feel like you're right.

Speaker A:

It is.

Speaker A:

It is so me also feel like that's like.

Speaker A:

I mean, it's not.

Speaker A:

Well, because.

Speaker A:

Why are you lying, though?

Speaker A:

Why are you lying?

Speaker A:

Aquaman is not a cute name.

Speaker A:

You.

Speaker A:

Well, I definitely.

Speaker A:

I definitely like at least one name I threw out.

Speaker A:

And you guys were like, that's because we're real friends, which I can't remember which one it was either.

Speaker A:

Oh, my God.

Speaker A:

For sure.

Speaker A:

I don't know if all of you hated it as much as Ashley did, but Scout was like, oh, Scout, yo.

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker A:

Me and Ashley were like, girl, no.

Speaker A:

Monica was trying to be nice to you.

Speaker A:

I still stand by that.

Speaker A:

I think that it is kind of cute.

Speaker A:

Yeah, but it also.

Speaker A:

Isn't there a book that we had to read growing up in school where there was a kid.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

How to Kill a Mockingbird.

Speaker A:

How to Kill Him Just To Kill a Mockingbird Get Away With Murder came into that somehow.

Speaker A:

Listen.

Speaker A:

That was like that when Monica called Hulk Hogan.

Speaker A:

The Hulk.

Speaker A:

Listen, not the Hulk.

Speaker A:

Just listen.

Speaker A:

That's what I've always called him.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

And I had a weird obsession with him growing up because somebody gave me a doll of Hogan.

Speaker A:

Like, I. I don't know.

Speaker A:

I'm not even gonna wear fixation.

Speaker A:

I totally thought Nicole called in the Hulk.

Speaker A:

I didn't even realize it was me.

Speaker A:

No, not me.

Speaker A:

Are you kidding?

Speaker A:

I may be.

Speaker A:

I might be the only one who ever calls him that.

Speaker A:

But I swear, I think that is a Monica thing, because I've never, ever heard anyone call him.

Speaker A:

I've heard people call him just Hulk, but not the Hulk.

Speaker A:

But you know what?

Speaker A:

You fully said the Hulk.

Speaker A:

Yeah, you fully said the Hulk.

Speaker A:

So that was like.

Speaker A:

No, but I swear my sister said it in a chat, too.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker A:

Okay, so it's just a you.

Speaker A:

It's a you.

Speaker A:

It's a.

Speaker A:

Well, no, I, I, I have always.

Speaker A:

It's your family thing.

Speaker A:

I swear it's not just me.

Speaker A:

Like, I'm telling you, I was obsessed with him growing up for no reason.

Speaker A:

It's just a you guys thing.

Speaker A:

Maybe you guys think that I heard it as a child, and I was like, that's it.

Speaker A:

And it's part of your family lore.

Speaker A:

It very well could be.

Speaker A:

Somebody tell us.

Speaker A:

Somebody tell us, do you know Hulk Hogan as the Hulk or just Hulk?

Speaker A:

Because I just know him as Hulk.

Speaker A:

Actually, I just know him as Hulk Hogan.

Speaker A:

I don't know him.

Speaker A:

I really need you guys to come through and, yeah.

Speaker A:

Be like, defend me.

Speaker A:

Because I.

Speaker A:

Well, we can't.

Speaker A:

We can't be mentioning the whole Colgan without saying, rest in peace.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Because what a freaking week.

Speaker A:

There was, like, three people to just, like, drop dead.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

That's harsh.

Speaker A:

Sorry.

Speaker A:

Oh, my God.

Speaker A:

Wow.

Speaker A:

You were just like, rest in peace.

Speaker A:

And then, wow.

Speaker A:

So sorry.

Speaker A:

Sideways.

Speaker A:

I just really didn't know what else to say.

Speaker A:

Like, do you expect anything?

Speaker A:

It was a hard week.

Speaker A:

We lost a lot of Ozzy.

Speaker A:

We lost Ozzy.

Speaker A:

Like, that.

Speaker A:

That one.

Speaker A:

Don't hit me.

Speaker A:

Ozzy and the Hulk.

Speaker A:

Who's Next.

Speaker A:

Zach Morris.

Speaker A:

Better not be.

Speaker A:

Oh, my God, no.

Speaker A:

What is his name, though?

Speaker A:

I can't remember.

Speaker A:

Malcolm.

Speaker A:

Malcolm Warner.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Yeah, so that's three.

Speaker A:

I saw a video where somebody made a salt ring around Randy Travis and was like, protection.

Speaker A:

He can't be the one.

Speaker A:

You shouldn't.

Speaker A:

That's.

Speaker A:

I mean, no, we shouldn't.

Speaker A:

But wait, this is.

Speaker A:

You know, we joke sideways, okay?

Speaker A:

We joke to cope.

Speaker A:

So if you're gonna come in here judging.

Speaker A:

Go away.

Speaker A:

Because we joke to cope.

Speaker A:

Get the out of here.

Speaker A:

Honestly, though, truly, rest in peace to them.

Speaker A:

I was really devastated about Ozzy because that was my very first.

Speaker A:

My first concert was Ozfest.

Speaker A:

I cannot believe that was your very first concert.

Speaker A:

Like, can you really.

Speaker A:

You can't really.

Speaker A:

You can't believe it?

Speaker A:

I can, but it's.

Speaker A:

No, I can for you.

Speaker A:

Like, it makes sense for you.

Speaker A:

What I'm saying is, like, to have that be your very first.

Speaker A:

Like, I can't believe.

Speaker A:

Epic.

Speaker A:

It was really, really cool.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I went.

Speaker A:

I mean, it was Miley Cyrus, but.

Speaker A:

Okay, that makes sense.

Speaker A:

I.

Speaker A:

That's.

Speaker A:

I can see that tracks.

Speaker A:

Yeah, I know what mine was.

Speaker A:

I. I saw Iron Maiden and then Black Sabbath, but I was like, literally 12.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

First concert, I went with, like, all the men in my family.

Speaker A:

My dad, my uncle.

Speaker A:

And I was trying to get in the mosh pit.

Speaker A:

I was trying to get in the mosh pit.

Speaker A:

There's these people started.

Speaker A:

We were in lawn.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

So we were at the.

Speaker A:

We weren't even like, up close or anything, but these people started to mosh in the law.

Speaker A:

I was trying to get into it, and my.

Speaker A:

I remember my uncle, like, physically had to, like, remove me from.

Speaker A:

He was like, you're gonna come this way.

Speaker A:

Come on.

Speaker A:

Get out of.

Speaker A:

Get up.

Speaker A:

Get away from the wash. Nicole, stop inching towards the stampede towards death.

Speaker A:

Literally.

Speaker A:

You are acting.

Speaker A:

You have to stop and jing your way towards death.

Speaker A:

We don't need that.

Speaker A:

I stopped growing at.

Speaker A:

At 12, so, you know, that was.

Speaker A:

I already reached max height.

Speaker A:

I wasn't.

Speaker A:

Oh, my gosh.

Speaker A:

That.

Speaker A:

That is hilarious.

Speaker A:

Yeah, sometimes.

Speaker A:

Well, this summer has just been full of all sorts of stuff.

Speaker A:

One thing I just find hilarious that we all experienced is the struggle of your best friend having other best friends or just even your besties being with each other.

Speaker A:

And you're not there.

Speaker A:

That too.

Speaker A:

But, like, you guys aren't allowed to have other friends, so.

Speaker A:

My other friends say that.

Speaker A:

I know.

Speaker A:

That's the.

Speaker A:

That's the funny thing is, like, we all collectively share that.

Speaker A:

Like, we're still in junior high, let me tell you.

Speaker A:

Gina literally tells me every day.

Speaker A:

My other best friends.

Speaker A:

Your other best friends always, like, she loves you guys.

Speaker A:

She loves you guys.

Speaker A:

Does she trash talk you guys every day?

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

So sorry about that.

Speaker A:

But she does.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I went and saw.

Speaker A:

I went on a vacation for my.

Speaker A:

With my.

Speaker A:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker A:

And on my OG group chat, like, my.

Speaker A:

My family from Hawaii, when we live there, and they were just.

Speaker A:

They were really letting you guys have it the whole time.

Speaker A:

They were like, yep.

Speaker A:

Your podcast friends.

Speaker A:

I mean, we were doing literally the same thing.

Speaker A:

We're like, she's with her other friends in the group chat right now because she's with her other friends.

Speaker A:

I was trying really hard to be respectful and not mention you guys too much, even though it's, like, really easy to bring you up in conversation because.

Speaker A:

And they'd be like, you're.

Speaker A:

You can't.

Speaker A:

You can't bring them up.

Speaker A:

Like, you can't talk about them anymore.

Speaker A:

And so then I just started, like, drip feeding, like, really fun information about you guys to them.

Speaker A:

Like, that was really relatable to them.

Speaker A:

Like, oh, Nicole would also pick a fight with somebody in a parking lot, because we almost got to fight a parking lot.

Speaker A:

And my little.

Speaker A:

My little short best friend was ready to dive out of the van and, like, go ape on these people.

Speaker A:

And I was like, you know, you'd really get along with Nicole.

Speaker A:

She would do the same thing.

Speaker A:

You're, like, trying to bait them into liking us.

Speaker A:

I did.

Speaker A:

They're like, we get it.

Speaker A:

They're great.

Speaker A:

Hey, I did have that same sentiment, Minica, when I saw that you went to the Morgan Wallen concert with somebody, I don't even know who that was.

Speaker A:

And I didn't ask because I was bitter.

Speaker A:

I'm like, who's this bitch?

Speaker A:

No, just kidding.

Speaker A:

She's not a bitch, I'm sure.

Speaker A:

And she might even listen to this podcast.

Speaker A:

So I don't know who you are, but I love you.

Speaker A:

But I literally had the same thing.

Speaker A:

I was like, ah, who are you hanging out with?

Speaker A:

Going to concerts with people.

Speaker A:

That's not me.

Speaker A:

It was a good time.

Speaker A:

It's like, I am offended that you have other friends, but obviously I can't go to the concert with you.

Speaker A:

Freaking happy that you're doing the thing, but also, what the hell?

Speaker A:

But that's literally what I said.

Speaker A:

Saw my friend in Florida.

Speaker A:

She had posted, like, a week before a.

Speaker A:

A photo shoot with her friend there in where she lives, and they got matching tattoos.

Speaker A:

And I was like, oh, no, no.

Speaker A:

She even caught, like, the caption, I think even said something about best friends.

Speaker A:

And I was like, liar.

Speaker A:

I can't say anything because who am I?

Speaker A:

Who am I to say something?

Speaker A:

Literally, we were looking up freaking tattoo shops when we were in Colorado.

Speaker A:

We almost did it.

Speaker A:

We were trying so hard to figure out what would be something that we could all get together and get.

Speaker A:

So who the fuck are we to say, right?

Speaker A:

I get on a public podcast every week and call you guys my best friends.

Speaker A:

So, like, who am I to give her for her other friends?

Speaker A:

That's so funny.

Speaker A:

But then, like, the other part of it too, is I don't think anybody prepared me for the reality of being adults, being that we have long distant best friends.

Speaker A:

Like, it never occurred to me growing up that that was gonna be a thing.

Speaker A:

It was just like, no, you're really.

Speaker A:

I mean, not really.

Speaker A:

Like, I mean, you know that, like, your friend, like, you'll go to college and stuff.

Speaker A:

But, like, I don't know, I just.

Speaker A:

I feel like I. I've extra, like, dosed into that world.

Speaker A:

Like, all my bestest friends are like, I. I don't live near any of them.

Speaker A:

I mean, that's not true because we.

Speaker A:

We moved here, but even so, I still live a couple hours from my good friends that are from home.

Speaker A:

And, like, I have.

Speaker A:

I have best friends in, like, every corner of this country, probably some overseas.

Speaker A:

It's just like, it's cruel, especially with you being a military family.

Speaker A:

Yeah, that's.

Speaker A:

Yeah, that's especially true.

Speaker A:

See, I grew up where my mom, she moved us away from, like, everything.

Speaker A:

She.

Speaker A:

She was born and raised in New York and at the age of 30, moved us west out to Arizona.

Speaker A:

And so, like, everybody, literally everybody she knew was there except for her.

Speaker A:

My aunt.

Speaker A:

My aunt was the only person that lived out in Arizona.

Speaker A:

Only person we even had.

Speaker A:

So, like, Kelsey, I think I just saw fly fly across your screen.

Speaker A:

You sure did.

Speaker A:

If this is your first time ever listening to us, that's significant.

Speaker A:

You need to go back and listen to the first few episodes to understand what the fuck we're talking about.

Speaker A:

Anyway, that's part of podcast lore.

Speaker A:

That is podcast lore.

Speaker A:

We need to make a sticker with a fly on it.

Speaker A:

If I ever see a psychic, they're going to tell me that my spirit guide for sure.

Speaker A:

I don't even remember what the I was gonna say.

Speaker A:

Oh.

Speaker A:

So growing up, my mom's best friends were always long distance.

Speaker A:

Like, they always had their phone call dates and their whatever, so they would be on the phone, you know, like, that's just like.

Speaker A:

That was so normal to me.

Speaker A:

You know, Obviously she had friends in Arizona after a little, you know, after living there for a while.

Speaker A:

But, like, her core group of people were not her neighbors.

Speaker A:

They were not, you know, within a couple hours drive, they were literally on the other side of the country.

Speaker A:

So I feel like in my mind, that's always been a possibility.

Speaker A:

Like, I'm always like, oh, yeah, I can't wait to go to whatever state and visit my bestie in the future, blah, blah, blah.

Speaker A:

And now I.

Speaker A:

Now I do that with you guys.

Speaker A:

I go, yeah.

Speaker A:

It's actually very cruel, though, because, like, it is.

Speaker A:

You guys, like a lot of my friends.

Speaker A:

You guys, like there.

Speaker A:

You guys are like.

Speaker A:

I can't even say the words, like, put it in words, but, like, you know, by.

Speaker A:

We are your extension of me.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

I was.

Speaker A:

I was gonna say, I think, too, the difference between, like, older generations and their friend groups versus us and younger generations and our friend groups, we're, like, very codependent on each other.

Speaker A:

Like, we need to.

Speaker A:

You know what I mean?

Speaker A:

Like, not a bad way.

Speaker A:

I don't think it's a bad way at all.

Speaker A:

I think we really come together and create that, like, community that we want to create.

Speaker A:

And so we obviously, like, cling to that and want to thrive in it.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And, like, we want to thrive in it, and that's what we want to do.

Speaker A:

We want to be there with us.

Speaker A:

So, like, the fact that you guys are literally not my neighbors sucks.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And, like, in the military, a lot of the times, the friends that you make, you.

Speaker A:

They quite literally become your family because you don't have a family.

Speaker A:

And then so it's like, then you move apart.

Speaker A:

Right, Right.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Then to be stationed somewhere else, it's like, oh, great.

Speaker A:

I have to.

Speaker A:

First of all, I have to do this all over again.

Speaker A:

And second of all, I don't want to leave these people.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So that's hard.

Speaker A:

That's hard.

Speaker A:

Well, in summary, since we took the summer off, I feel like we have to do kind of a recap of some of the our favorite moments, either personally or pop culture wise.

Speaker A:

I know the one everybody's probably done talking about, but it's still just, like, so funny to me is the Coldplay concert.

Speaker A:

But the new development.

Speaker A:

I don't know if you guys saw this, and it just makes me laugh so much.

Speaker A:

Did you guys see the Astronomer?

Speaker A:

Like, the company ended up releasing video with Gwyneth Paltrow.

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker A:

Ex wife.

Speaker A:

Of if.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

A homie from Coldplay.

Speaker A:

What's his name?

Speaker A:

Chris.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So they have their child Apple.

Speaker A:

Another weird freaking name.

Speaker A:

Anyway, go on.

Speaker A:

I didn't watch the video.

Speaker A:

What was the point of bringing her in on that?

Speaker A:

It was basically just to, like, make a joke of it.

Speaker A:

Because of Coldplay, this.

Speaker A:

This small tech company got way more, like, coverage than they ever should.

Speaker A:

And so they.

Speaker A:

They brought in Quinn and Paltrow.

Speaker A:

Because of who?

Speaker A:

Exes.

Speaker A:

But then it was like, I didn't watch the whole thing, but I, like, read parts of it where she would be like, you know, the pressing questions are, you know, this.

Speaker A:

And, like, how's your social media team hanging up?

Speaker A:

Like.

Speaker A:

Like holding up.

Speaker A:

And then instead of, like, answering it directly, she'd cut herself off and be like.

Speaker A:

And we have this event coming in, like, whatever.

Speaker A:

So it's.

Speaker A:

I've not seen that.

Speaker A:

It's pretty.

Speaker A:

I think it's pretty smart, honestly.

Speaker A:

I love how they're playing into it.

Speaker A:

You might as well run with.

Speaker A:

And he left the company, so, like, yeah, you could do whatever you want.

Speaker A:

I. I mean, I don't know if he was fired or if he left, but I know he's not there.

Speaker A:

Yeah, it says that him and the HR person, like, they stepped down, which, like, I don't know how they.

Speaker A:

They could have survived.

Speaker A:

Not doing that.

Speaker A:

Like, you would have.

Speaker A:

You would have no respect from any of your employees.

Speaker A:

I actually thought that I had read she stayed on, but maybe that was, like, satire.

Speaker A:

Like, maybe that was a joke that she stayed on.

Speaker A:

Oh, because that would be crazy.

Speaker A:

That would be wild.

Speaker A:

I don't know how she could have.

Speaker A:

Because, like, if she had had any other role other than hr.

Speaker A:

Any other role.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Things happen.

Speaker A:

But, like, that's literally your job, like, managing this kind of stuff.

Speaker A:

It's wild to me, but the.

Speaker A:

Yeah, the bringing in Gwyneth Paltrow I think, is just epic.

Speaker A:

Great way to capitalize on.

Speaker A:

I just have to add in, like, a tiny PSA for anybody that's watching this on YouTube.

Speaker A:

If you see me make a funny face, I. I am not being.

Speaker A:

I'm having, like, random contractions.

Speaker A:

I am not being a weirdo.

Speaker A:

I just a pain face.

Speaker A:

It's just that I'm having some pain, and it's fine.

Speaker A:

It's just I'm not over here, like, making what my friends are saying.

Speaker A:

I think my favorite thing about this whole two things, actually.

Speaker A:

The statement that his wife put out.

Speaker A:

She's such a badass.

Speaker A:

Well, I guess X Wife X. Yeah.

Speaker A:

Especially after his statement where he basically.

Speaker A:

I know.

Speaker A:

He's like, oh, I'm sorry, me for being a husband.

Speaker A:

Out of here.

Speaker A:

I'm sorry that I got caught because Coldplay exposed me.

Speaker A:

I'm sorry that they made a very public but, I mean, situation I thought was private.

Speaker A:

Funniest to get put up on.

Speaker A:

On the kiss cam.

Speaker A:

On the kiss cam.

Speaker A:

The.

Speaker A:

So funny.

Speaker A:

Well, when you're diabolical, you're gonna get some attention.

Speaker A:

Well, yeah.

Speaker A:

How.

Speaker A:

Also, how dare you do it in such a public place that's your own faul.

Speaker A:

Like, are you kidding me?

Speaker A:

And then blame them for taking a private moment and making it public.

Speaker A:

No, no, no, no.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

They don't know.

Speaker A:

They don't.

Speaker A:

They don't know.

Speaker A:

That's not your wife.

Speaker A:

You're in public.

Speaker A:

If you wanted to do some sneaky.

Speaker A:

Get a.

Speaker A:

Like, a private box that's blacked out.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

I mean, Coldplay is honestly probably like, thank you for being a.

Speaker A:

Because this is great for us.

Speaker A:

Right, Right.

Speaker A:

But the thing is, is, like, this is not the first time an affair has been exposed on, like, a jumbotron.

Speaker A:

No, but, like, so why do people do that?

Speaker A:

So, yeah.

Speaker A:

Why are you taking, like, your mistress somewhere where there's gonna be jumbo?

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Think this one through.

Speaker A:

Like, think it through.

Speaker A:

Because the thing is, is if you're the cameraman, you're looking for the people who are all cute and canoodling.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

And so when you're out on a date you're not supposed to be out on, you're like, extra canoodling.

Speaker A:

I don't know why today, but extra canoodling.

Speaker A:

I don't know if I've ever seen a kiss cam at a concert, though.

Speaker A:

I don't know that I have, but I don't know why they were.

Speaker A:

But they did, and now it happened, and.

Speaker A:

Oh, well.

Speaker A:

So my second thing that I love is I keep seeing, like, kiss cam.

Speaker A:

Does he have memes of it?

Speaker A:

Because I feel bad if bs.

Speaker A:

Yes, he does.

Speaker A:

That's the shitty thing.

Speaker A:

And that's.

Speaker A:

That's what.

Speaker A:

They have children.

Speaker A:

And he addressed them in his statement.

Speaker A:

He was like, I should have been a better role model for my kids or whatever.

Speaker A:

Yeah, you should have.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

No, you should have.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I just feel bad for the Internet, for what they have to see on the Internet.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Although I could be wrong, because I don't know if it's a valid account, but I do think I saw something from the daughter who, like, she made A like satire post about it.

Speaker A:

So I think she's like trying to kind of handle it.

Speaker A:

Are they, it depends on too what the kids ages are.

Speaker A:

I don't know what their ages are.

Speaker A:

Are they teenagers?

Speaker A:

Are they like young?

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

I don't think they're little.

Speaker A:

Little.

Speaker A:

But okay, they're I think like adolescent teens.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

So not that it makes it better, but at least they're not like children that their whole family is being broken up.

Speaker A:

You know what I mean?

Speaker A:

I could be wrong though.

Speaker A:

I, I intentionally didn't really look into that.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I mean, for this reason for the teenagers, then you've got your friend.

Speaker A:

Like, you've got like.

Speaker A:

It sucks.

Speaker A:

I'm not saying it's like gonna be easy for them, but they're old enough to understand what's happening at least and not like young to where they're like, what's going on and it be so public, you know?

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

The other thing that I've been enjoying coming out of this because it's funny is the mascots of like freaking, you know, just whatever baseball, whatever teams, like replaying out that whole scene and it's, it cracks me up.

Speaker A:

What else has been happening in the pop culture?

Speaker A:

Lots of Love island stuff that I don't watch that show.

Speaker A:

So I don't know.

Speaker A:

I don't.

Speaker A:

I've never seen the show, but I did love the commentary from Nick Jonas and then all the other Disney.

Speaker A:

Okay, I didn't see this commentary.

Speaker A:

You mentioned it and I didn't actually see any of the commentary.

Speaker A:

So he was on a late night show, I don't remember which one.

Speaker A:

And he had made reference to how the Disney sports games that they would do were basically like the equivalent of Love island, but for a bunch of teens.

Speaker A:

It's wrong.

Speaker A:

It's so wrong.

Speaker A:

But so you see the video or you see the clip from the, the interview or whatever and you're just like, okay, like he's trying to be kind of funny, but you're just like, wow, okay.

Speaker A:

But then all of the Disney stars who you know were growing up with him or whatever, like they reacted to it in different interviews and podcasts themselves.

Speaker A:

I love that.

Speaker A:

I don't know what games he was at, but that's not like, I feel like it shows the different like clicks of the Disney fan friends.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Celebrities though, because I bet you to like the side he was on.

Speaker A:

That's probably what it was like.

Speaker A:

And then there was probably like the kids that weren't like, well, like what are you talking about?

Speaker A:

Did we go to the same place?

Speaker A:

What are you talking about?

Speaker A:

That's what Dylan Sprouse was saying.

Speaker A:

He was just like, you know, like, maybe like he's hanging out with like, Miley and Selena and like, I don't know, maybe.

Speaker A:

I feel like they were a different, like, kind of group.

Speaker A:

Like, I feel like it was Miley, Selena, like Demi, the Jonas Brothers.

Speaker A:

Like, they were kind of.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Often they're always seem to be a separate thing than like the Sprouse brothers and like, which I love the Sprouse brothers, by the way.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Allison Stoner was another one who commented on it.

Speaker A:

And then.

Speaker A:

So is.

Speaker A:

Oh, I love her name, Emily something.

Speaker A:

She's from the spin off of Young Sheldon or whatever, anyhow.

Speaker A:

Oh, Emily Osment.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Yeah, so they all kind of were just like.

Speaker A:

I don't know what he's talking about, but the description of this scenario just sent me because it's like this was always in like, August and Orlando with like, swamp ass.

Speaker A:

Like, who's doing that?

Speaker A:

Perhaps Nick Jonas's whole, like, experience was just a little bit like Love Island.

Speaker A:

Like, they were like his whole life experience.

Speaker A:

No, like that.

Speaker A:

That time, that time on Disney.

Speaker A:

Because, like, he.

Speaker A:

He was with Miley for a while and they were.

Speaker A:

Miley, like, snuck out to meet him at a club or something.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

Sounds like they were just living a more.

Speaker A:

I mean, that's true.

Speaker A:

Because, like, the access that, like childhood child stars have to things is just very different.

Speaker A:

So maybe.

Speaker A:

Maybe it really.

Speaker A:

Maybe his description is accurate.

Speaker A:

It was accurate for him.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

I have kids.

Speaker A:

I have children that are.

Speaker A:

That are fine.

Speaker A:

Kind of being unsupervised right now.

Speaker A:

Not really.

Speaker A:

I mean, obviously we're in the same house, but I don't have a. I don't have a second person to man them.

Speaker A:

So if you see me jump in and out of the screen.

Speaker A:

Sorry, you're not gonna hear it.

Speaker A:

You won't hear it because it's on a mediocre podcast.

Speaker A:

Being mom.

Speaker A:

A mediocre podcast with our real lives.

Speaker A:

I don't make big podcast money yet, so how about somebody hurry up so I can get a nanny?

Speaker A:

No, I'm just kidding.

Speaker A:

So we're gonna retire Ashley, and then we're gonna hire nannies.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Anyway, so obviously for the people that are listening, y', all, that won't be an issue, but the people that are watching.

Speaker A:

Sorry, I'm back.

Speaker A:

Let's go.

Speaker A:

Well, okay, so other exciting things at least pop culture wise.

Speaker A:

Kelsey, I Feel like you would be excited about.

Speaker A:

This is supposedly, Miley Cyrus is saying that she's hinting at something special for Hannah Montana for the.

Speaker A:

What is it?

Speaker A:

20th anniversary.

Speaker A:

I read that, and I was like, like, ooh.

Speaker A:

Between that and I also feel like you would be excited about the Freakier Friday.

Speaker A:

Oh, I'm excited about the Freakier Friday.

Speaker A:

I'm pretty excited about that.

Speaker A:

So excited to see what the Hannah Montana is.

Speaker A:

But, yeah, I don't think.

Speaker A:

Way more excited for free.

Speaker A:

I don't think people think it's gonna be, like, something crazy.

Speaker A:

But she's already said she's not gonna tour, so it's like, obviously, I heard something about, like, she might be doing, like, a Vegas show or a Vegas appearance or something like that, and that they think that she'll, like, like, put on the Hannah Montana wig and, like, do that.

Speaker A:

But I could see her doing one show.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Not like a whole tour of Hannah Montana.

Speaker A:

Oh, my gosh, no.

Speaker A:

But you think she'll put the wig on?

Speaker A:

I think she'll put the wig on.

Speaker A:

I think she will.

Speaker A:

She's been embracing her, doesn't she?

Speaker A:

Like, she finally has the right.

Speaker A:

She.

Speaker A:

So when she left.

Speaker A:

So after Hannah Montana ended, she wasn't allowed to sing Hannah Montana.

Speaker A:

That's why she hasn't done it all these years.

Speaker A:

Because it wasn't allowed.

Speaker A:

She didn't have the rights to sing it.

Speaker A:

But now, after she was made, like, a Disney legacy or whatever, now she has the rights to sing the Hannah Montana songs.

Speaker A:

So tick tocks.

Speaker A:

You'll see her singing some because she can now.

Speaker A:

Good for her.

Speaker A:

That's kind of up.

Speaker A:

That's like.

Speaker A:

They use her likeness.

Speaker A:

They hire you on as an actor.

Speaker A:

Like, she literally.

Speaker A:

She is Hannah Montana.

Speaker A:

That show actually launched her singing career.

Speaker A:

So, like, what do you mean she can't sing?

Speaker A:

Sing?

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

It's how the industry is.

Speaker A:

I mean, that's a whole, like, thing of, like, Taylor Swift and her music rights, too, is like, there's so many, like, just completely up things when it comes to that.

Speaker A:

Well, okay, so the last thing that I feel like we've been talking about that we're all excited about is so.

Speaker A:

Because.

Speaker A:

Because we're book girlies, right?

Speaker A:

Like, Nicole, by the way, has started her book talk.

Speaker A:

I started a book talk.

Speaker A:

Guys, go follow her.

Speaker A:

Go follow it.

Speaker A:

But in.

Speaker A:

In our book world, so two things.

Speaker A:

One, we've all read all the Jagged Edges.

Speaker A:

Actually, Ashley's still reading bruh.

Speaker A:

So that's now one of our top favorite books.

Speaker A:

So we love that.

Speaker A:

You're welcome.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

I only bullied them for like a year about this book before they seriously did.

Speaker A:

Seriously.

Speaker A:

I freaking love it so much.

Speaker A:

I just wish that it would go viral on Tick Tock because I'm telling you, it deserves to.

Speaker A:

It does.

Speaker A:

It.

Speaker A:

It does.

Speaker A:

So this probably will not be the last time we talk about it because.

Speaker A:

No, we love the book.

Speaker A:

We love the author.

Speaker A:

We cannot wait for the next one to come out.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker A:

Correct.

Speaker A:

Cannot wait.

Speaker A:

And then the second thing is our other favorite series, the Raven Hood, is getting movies.

Speaker A:

Wait, I'm scared.

Speaker A:

I'm excited, but I'm scared.

Speaker A:

Like, I also.

Speaker A:

Don't ruin my vision of.

Speaker A:

Please.

Speaker A:

I know, I know.

Speaker A:

However, I feel like Kate Stewart has such a solid vision and she's very closely, like, working on it.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

That.

Speaker A:

I just.

Speaker A:

I'm trusting that she's.

Speaker A:

She's going to make sure that they do it.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

I'm just.

Speaker A:

Let me.

Speaker A:

After Twilight, I'm scared.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Because.

Speaker A:

Yeah, I knew you were gonna.

Speaker A:

Kelsey's probably gonna go here too.

Speaker A:

Like, not just twilight, like 50 shades of gray.

Speaker A:

Like, but I just mean, like, when, when, when.

Speaker A:

When an author is heavily involved in the movie.

Speaker A:

Like Stephenie Meyer was heavily involved in the Twilight production.

Speaker A:

Why did it come out that way?

Speaker A:

Why did we get what we got?

Speaker A:

It got better.

Speaker A:

I have a theory.

Speaker A:

It got better at kind of an oddball.

Speaker A:

No, I think.

Speaker A:

I think some of it is, like, it.

Speaker A:

It was.

Speaker A:

It was probably a much smaller.

Speaker A:

Like, even though it was a big production in the beginning, it wasn't.

Speaker A:

It.

Speaker A:

It got better as it went on.

Speaker A:

And I think it's because it had more.

Speaker A:

But you know that as the movies got better, the books got worse.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

We'll let you have it.

Speaker A:

We'll let you have it.

Speaker A:

You read it recently.

Speaker A:

We'll let you.

Speaker A:

I'll let you read it.

Speaker A:

And they did it worse.

Speaker A:

I was so unsettled.

Speaker A:

Satisfied.

Speaker A:

We can't talk about.

Speaker A:

I need therapy to recover from Monica's reading of this book.

Speaker A:

First of all, I can't do.

Speaker A:

You can't change my mind.

Speaker A:

I can't do this with you because.

Speaker A:

I'm sorry.

Speaker A:

It just.

Speaker A:

It ended so abruptly.

Speaker A:

There were so many different things where I'm like, why did I not get more there?

Speaker A:

Like, there's things where, like take on.

Speaker A:

It's never gonna be actor.

Speaker A:

Because you read it too.

Speaker A:

Actually.

Speaker A:

You're too old.

Speaker A:

Your adult brain.

Speaker A:

I think I would have had the same opinion, though, if I had.

Speaker A:

You would have.

Speaker A:

I Would have.

Speaker A:

Shut up.

Speaker A:

Moving on.

Speaker A:

I literally need actual therapy sessions about Monica and Twilight.

Speaker A:

I'm sorry.

Speaker A:

It just.

Speaker A:

No, here's the thing.

Speaker A:

Here's the thing.

Speaker A:

The very first book, I stayed up to, like, way early in the morning.

Speaker A:

Oh, I remember that.

Speaker A:

You were in it.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

You were.

Speaker A:

First book, pulled me in.

Speaker A:

I was like, okay, okay, I. I can see why.

Speaker A:

I can see why people are pulled in.

Speaker A:

Like, there's some things that aren't amazing, but, like, I get it.

Speaker A:

And I was pulled in.

Speaker A:

And then the rest of the books, it just.

Speaker A:

I wanted so much more.

Speaker A:

But fortunately, the Raven Hood series is just so much better.

Speaker A:

It is.

Speaker A:

It is.

Speaker A:

I have one complaint with the Raven Hood series as a book.

Speaker A:

Is that it.

Speaker A:

It's a little too drawn out sometimes.

Speaker A:

Like, you know, a lot of.

Speaker A:

A lot of times I'm like, freaking Kate.

Speaker A:

Wrap it up.

Speaker A:

And this is like.

Speaker A:

This is with every book.

Speaker A:

It was.

Speaker A:

I feel like one last rainy day wasn't as bad, but, like, severed her.

Speaker A:

She really, really ties it up and gives you that picture, which I both love.

Speaker A:

And also, I get what you're saying.

Speaker A:

You're just like, she's just worried.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Like, she's just wordy sometimes, you know?

Speaker A:

And it's like, okay, the.

Speaker A:

This book doesn't need to be this big.

Speaker A:

Like, I'm cool with you having multiple books, but it doesn't.

Speaker A:

They all don't need to be this big.

Speaker A:

Like, however, I do think that cut back on the word count.

Speaker A:

You feeling like you are a part of, like, the Ravenhood and, like, that you really know them because you get all of that information.

Speaker A:

So you're just like, I'm a Raven too.

Speaker A:

We really have to, like, do our.

Speaker A:

A separate episode for books because we do this every time.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Do we have to do a separate episode, or can we just.

Speaker A:

Can it just be in the rotation?

Speaker A:

It's fine.

Speaker A:

But if anybody's listening to us who doesn't like books, they're gonna be like, that's true.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

We don't mean to, like, we don't mean to fall on review it.

Speaker A:

This is just our opinions.

Speaker A:

We just.

Speaker A:

I'm excited for, like, 30 minutes.

Speaker A:

Correct.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

But I nonetheless, I am excited about the movies.

Speaker A:

Yeah, I'm very excited about them, although I have it, like, ingrained in my brain.

Speaker A:

Sean is my.

Speaker A:

Sean is my guy.

Speaker A:

And the way he says hey, pup in the audiobook, like, if they don't find an actor that says hey, pup better than that, that I'll never cover because I'm A little nervous, actually.

Speaker A:

Like, I. I am.

Speaker A:

I'm excited, but I'm nervous.

Speaker A:

Like, oh, my God, we saw somebody.

Speaker A:

Somebody posted that they think Daniel Gillies is gonna be, you know, Tobias.

Speaker A:

Which I wouldn't hate.

Speaker A:

I wouldn't hate it either.

Speaker A:

But if it's, like.

Speaker A:

I swear to God, if it is him, I'm.

Speaker A:

I'm gonna crash out.

Speaker A:

In a good way.

Speaker A:

Because I. I.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

I love Daniel Gillies.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

But I. I also, at the same time, I don't know if he's Tobias.

Speaker A:

Like, I can't really see him as Tobias.

Speaker A:

For me, I won't be mad.

Speaker A:

And I.

Speaker A:

And I know he'll do the character justice because he's hot, but I don't necessarily think that he's Tobias.

Speaker A:

Like, I would love that for him, because I love him.

Speaker A:

I love him.

Speaker A:

I don't.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I don't know if that's Tobias.

Speaker A:

I picture Tobias, like, a little more, like, husky.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

A little huskier.

Speaker A:

I also picture him with, like, darker hair.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Darker features, too.

Speaker A:

Like, that's just how I picture him.

Speaker A:

Like.

Speaker A:

Like actual, like, rugged French man.

Speaker A:

Like, that's what I see.

Speaker A:

Also, like, he is Elijah in my brain and will.

Speaker A:

Exactly.

Speaker A:

Elijah.

Speaker A:

Always Elijah.

Speaker A:

Speaking of.

Speaker A:

Speaking of Vampire Diaries, if you guys have been listening for a while, you know, we love Vampire Diaries.

Speaker A:

We are Vampire Diaries fans.

Speaker A:

Stefan.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Oh, yes.

Speaker A:

What is his name?

Speaker A:

I can't.

Speaker A:

Why am I drawing a blank?

Speaker A:

What is his name?

Speaker A:

Paul Wesley.

Speaker A:

Paul Wesley.

Speaker A:

Jesus Christ.

Speaker A:

Why is he gonna be in Star Trek?

Speaker A:

Is that what that was?

Speaker A:

Didn't I.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

I just.

Speaker A:

No, because.

Speaker A:

No, because he's Stefan.

Speaker A:

Like, I cannot see him in anything else.

Speaker A:

I'm sorry.

Speaker A:

You're not really allowed to be in anything else.

Speaker A:

Why are you in Star Trek?

Speaker A:

I watched a trailer for it last night, and I was just like.

Speaker A:

I don't.

Speaker A:

I just see Stefan.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker A:

Yeah, no, I get that.

Speaker A:

I just can't.

Speaker A:

I can't.

Speaker A:

I don't understand, honestly, why he hasn't done much else.

Speaker A:

Because I bet you that.

Speaker A:

I bet you that casting, getting cast after a show like that is hard because.

Speaker A:

Yeah, hard.

Speaker A:

There's a certain image, like, I was trying to think of long, longstanding shows.

Speaker A:

You don't often see those actors go on in anything else.

Speaker A:

And I bet it's because it's like.

Speaker A:

It's.

Speaker A:

I bet you it's kind of hard to get jobs after that because people just see you the way they see you.

Speaker A:

Well, has Ian really been in Anything else?

Speaker A:

I can't.

Speaker A:

I don't.

Speaker A:

I don't.

Speaker A:

He was in, like.

Speaker A:

There wasn't like, another show.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

There was a weird zombie show, but I think Covid it up maybe.

Speaker A:

He's maybe been in a couple other things, but Paul really hasn't.

Speaker A:

Yeah, Paul really hasn't.

Speaker A:

I mean, Ian has, like, a look, though.

Speaker A:

He has a certain look.

Speaker A:

Should have been Christian Gray and I will die Die on that hill Die on that hill.

Speaker A:

Absolutely.

Speaker A:

I haven't even read that series, but I can agree with that.

Speaker A:

Okay, so this is why I'm nervous, though, about casting for these books that are being turned into movies.

Speaker A:

Like, we're also getting a light Lark adaptation for movies.

Speaker A:

And if, you know, if you know anything about me and Kelsey, we love the light Lark series.

Speaker A:

And finally Monica has started to read it, thank God.

Speaker A:

But I'm nervous about that too, because, like, I see Isla and I see grim in a very.

Speaker A:

I actually see grim as Ian.

Speaker A:

Like, that would.

Speaker A:

They need to.

Speaker A:

To.

Speaker A:

They need a younger Ian to be grim.

Speaker A:

And I will be happy with that.

Speaker A:

You know what I mean?

Speaker A:

Like, I could see that, but I'm afraid.

Speaker A:

I'm scared that we're not gonna get good casts and.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

It honestly is.

Speaker A:

Like, what's so hard about having a book series that you love so much is that you're so connected to these characters and have these images.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

That, like.

Speaker A:

I mean, I feel like it's always the case is the books are always better than the movies, for sure.

Speaker A:

But then sometimes it's just, like, so heartbreaking when they do the books so poorly and you're just like.

Speaker A:

Yeah, especially.

Speaker A:

Especially when there's very distinct descriptions, like, very.

Speaker A:

You know what I mean?

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

Like, I mean, that's one thing I appreciate about, like, Rebecca Yarrows, where she's, like, involved with the casting for Forth Wing, too, where she's like, zaden's not white.

Speaker A:

I know, right?

Speaker A:

No, like, drive that home.

Speaker A:

Like.

Speaker A:

Like, this needs to be addressed.

Speaker A:

Like, she will on that hill.

Speaker A:

Like, zaden's not white.

Speaker A:

You cannot cast him.

Speaker A:

You cannot.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

No, no.

Speaker A:

I mean, I will say at least that we're getting new movies that are, like, movies that aren't, like, remakes of other things.

Speaker A:

Like, we're having an original thought.

Speaker A:

I'm excited.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So, I mean, are these stories we've already heard?

Speaker A:

Yes, because we've read.

Speaker A:

Sure.

Speaker A:

But at least they're not, like, remakes of all classics from growing up, where it's like, I'm over it.

Speaker A:

Give Me something new that I want to see.

Speaker A:

I'm kind of excited for the HBO Harry Potter thing just because I think it gives them an opportunity to stick closer to the book, like, and really, like, get details.

Speaker A:

They can get deeper into the details, but, like, I. I'm just excited.

Speaker A:

So excited that I think that they're gonna get to, like, really hone in on details that got left out of the movies that I don't even care.

Speaker A:

Yeah, same.

Speaker A:

I think as long as they film it in a way where, like, it still is really good, I don't care.

Speaker A:

That's why sometimes I really enjoy series over movies.

Speaker A:

Like, when.

Speaker A:

When a story gets turned into a series versus a movies, because they can go.

Speaker A:

They go into more detail.

Speaker A:

Like, part of the problem with, like, so many books to movies is that they don't have enough time.

Speaker A:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker A:

They need to be series.

Speaker A:

I agree.

Speaker A:

Give me a series.

Speaker A:

I'm okay with a series.

Speaker A:

Like, Fourth Wing.

Speaker A:

Like, I hope it's a series and not a movie.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I feel like Hunger Games was, like, the last movie to, like, really do it well.

Speaker A:

Pissed me off.

Speaker A:

I think they did better than most, though.

Speaker A:

Like, now every time they remake something, now it's just, like, I watch it, and I'm like, you didn't even try.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

I was gonna bring Hunger Games up because that's another movie adaptation that I am excited for.

Speaker A:

I am very excited for Sunrise on the Reaping, even though I did not see Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes yet.

Speaker A:

I'll watch it before Sunrise comes out, but.

Speaker A:

But I'm very excited for Sunrise on the Reaping.

Speaker A:

I think they're doing a really great job at casting, and I am very excited to see how it plays out.

Speaker A:

I know.

Speaker A:

Monica, you haven't done Sunrise on the Reaping yet.

Speaker A:

Not yet, but I did love that series, so I will.

Speaker A:

I liked the movies, the original ones.

Speaker A:

I thought that they did a good job in a lot of ways, but it just.

Speaker A:

So much of the book is based off of Katniss's, like, internal dialogue.

Speaker A:

And so there was just so many things that I just felt like they didn't really communicate as strongly as it needed to be.

Speaker A:

So that was really my only, like, issue that I had with the movies was just that is that you didn't really get, like, the depth of the problems.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Otherwise, it was fine.

Speaker A:

But Hunger Games, for me, is similar to Twilight in the sense that, like, the movies has.

Speaker A:

Have kind of overshadowed the books a little bit in my mind, in my memory, so Then when I went back and listened to the.

Speaker A:

To the original trilogy again, me and Kelsey did that earlier this year.

Speaker A:

I was like, oh, my God, I forgot all these details, like, yada, yada.

Speaker A:

I, like, I just remembered how much I loved this story, and it was because of all these little details, blah, blah, blah.

Speaker A:

And it didn't have to be pages long to make it good.

Speaker A:

It was just good.

Speaker A:

No, they're short.

Speaker A:

And I would.

Speaker A:

Kelsey and I were.

Speaker A:

Kelsey and I were like.

Speaker A:

I don't remember them being these short.

Speaker A:

Like, it's always been this short.

Speaker A:

But, like, a day.

Speaker A:

Yeah, we were literally finishing them in a day, and we were like, what the.

Speaker A:

Like, and then I.

Speaker A:

And then we thought about it.

Speaker A:

We're like, oh, we finished these in the day.

Speaker A:

The first time.

Speaker A:

We wrote them too.

Speaker A:

But, like, I just.

Speaker A:

I just see the books as being so much bigger.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

But no.

Speaker A:

Yeah, like, the movies definitely kind of overshadow the book a little bit.

Speaker A:

So, yeah, it was nice to go back and reread them and be like, oh, yeah.

Speaker A:

So, like, now that I've reread them, it's fresh in my brain.

Speaker A:

I'm like, oh, they could have done so much more.

Speaker A:

Like, so much more could have been done with the movies.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Again, this is why we get scared when things that we love get turned into film adaptation.

Speaker A:

Because it's like, am I actually going to love it or I'm going to hate it?

Speaker A:

I know.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Literally, so excited about the movie to book adaptations.

Speaker A:

But if there's one that we miss that you're excited for, please let us know, because you know how we are.

Speaker A:

We like to watch shit.

Speaker A:

We like to read shit.

Speaker A:

We love all the things.

Speaker A:

So I want to know what you guys.

Speaker A:

Our audience.

Speaker A:

And I'm.

Speaker A:

I'm talking as if we have a really big audience because I'm manifesting that for us, we've got a huge audience.

Speaker A:

So I want all of you to come in and tell us exactly what books and movies you're excited for and the adaptations and all the things.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

What else do we have to talk about?

Speaker A:

Moving on.

Speaker A:

We got.

Speaker A:

We got on a tangent there.

Speaker A:

I. I think that kind of wraps up the summer.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I mean, not.

Speaker A:

Not so much about stuff we did, but at least.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Not.

Speaker A:

Not like watching and reading with us, but really had zero to do with us.

Speaker A:

But it's okay.

Speaker A:

That's okay.

Speaker A:

I mean, these are all things we.

Speaker A:

We've.

Speaker A:

We've been chatting about in the group chat.

Speaker A:

So sitting in reels and tick tocks for.

Speaker A:

So for real.

Speaker A:

I'm sorry, I can't get that out of my head.

Speaker A:

Ellipses.

Speaker A:

Sorry.

Speaker A:

If that's not like.

Speaker A:

If that's not the sound of the summer, I don't know what is.

Speaker A:

It is.

Speaker A:

It is.

Speaker A:

That is.

Speaker A:

That is the sound of the summer.

Speaker A:

That and the Jack do holiday.

Speaker A:

Every time I hear that though, for some reason, which we need to make this later.

Speaker A:

I think of Kelsey climbing up the hill and falling down the hill.

Speaker A:

I don't know why.

Speaker A:

Nothing like a Gen 2 all day and she falls.

Speaker A:

I was trying to be Edward and I was Bella instead.

Speaker A:

It's fine.

Speaker A:

Yeah, no, you were posting it today.

Speaker A:

I was literally doing Twilight.

Speaker A:

You are.

Speaker A:

No, that's actually what she was doing.

Speaker A:

But she was.

Speaker A:

She was actually just trying to be Edward and then she real life was Bella instead.

Speaker A:

I think the most epic part about that is it was specifically the scene where he's like, do you think you can outrun me?

Speaker A:

I think you can outrun me.

Speaker A:

Ask if you could outrun me and you could me off.

Speaker A:

And then she falls to her death.

Speaker A:

No, not really.

Speaker A:

The most like unscary moment.

Speaker A:

She was trying to be tough and that was intimidating.

Speaker A:

And she falls down a freaking hill.

Speaker A:

That was so funny.

Speaker A:

I am so dead.

Speaker A:

It literally might be my favorite part of that entire trip.

Speaker A:

Next to.

Speaker A:

Yeah, yeah, I think so.

Speaker A:

Oh, and the.

Speaker A:

The.

Speaker A:

And when she saw the moose.

Speaker A:

Why does everything revolve around you?

Speaker A:

You.

Speaker A:

When she saw the moose and she went running and I thought there was an intruder and ran upstairs ready to fight.

Speaker A:

People act like human beings and I run around like a idiot.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I'm like, no, straight up thought that there was a intruder.

Speaker A:

Literally was coming up to fight people.

Speaker A:

Like whisper yelling too.

Speaker A:

Banging.

Speaker A:

Running across the house and then whisper yelling, excuse me, we were waiting for the moose that it finally came.

Speaker A:

So freaking funny.

Speaker A:

Oh my God.

Speaker A:

So freaking funny.

Speaker A:

All right, well, I think.

Speaker A:

I think that's a wrap now.

Speaker A:

It is.

Speaker A:

Because we've officially made Monica cry laugh.

Speaker A:

That's usually a goal for the episodes and that's how we know we need to end it.

Speaker A:

When she's cry laughing and she can't speak.

Speaker A:

Oh my gosh.

Speaker A:

Oh, dude.

Speaker A:

I miss that later because you'll.

Speaker A:

You'll see the video.

Speaker A:

Kelsey falling.

Speaker A:

The sad thing is is that I really thought that would go viral when I posted it right after we went cuz I was like, this is like, this is so good.

Speaker A:

I'm act.

Speaker A:

I literally posted it a few times too.

Speaker A:

I posted it with its original.

Speaker A:

With the original sound, though.

Speaker A:

I was like, this is.

Speaker A:

This is golden.

Speaker A:

Like, this is the moment and.

Speaker A:

No, that one.

Speaker A:

No, that one did do pretty well, though.

Speaker A:

And the Janice one.

Speaker A:

Oh, gosh.

Speaker A:

Kelsey, Kelsey.

Speaker A:

Kelsey, Kelsey.

Speaker A:

All right, well, on that note, be boring without fear.

Speaker A:

It's true.

Speaker A:

True on that now.

Speaker A:

Very boring.
